Maned Wolves Return to the Zoo

Jasmine and Jamie, two maned wolves from South America, are on exhibit at the Zoo's Polar Rim zone. These leggy, handsome wild dogs have not been seen at the Zoo in over 30 years!

 Spring has sprung down under, but with the rains comes slippery conditions for workers trying to save the iconic kiwi. Not to mention an increase in ticks, which feast on the blood of the birds as well as the people.

Animal Care Wish List

This month our Wish List features edible treat balls for our parma wallabies and gibbons, mirrors for meerkats, foraging toys for red river hogs, and even a cube-shaped toy for our babirusa. Or think big and for a $250 donation, you will be recognized with a 5-foot-tall candy cane displayed along Candy Cane Lane at the Zoo during Jungle Bells.

Phone books are recycled into many types of products like cereal boxes, home insulation, drywall, roofing shingles, and new phone books. On Saturday, November 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the first 200 families who bring in an outdated phone book to the AT&T booth will receive two free San Diego Zoo 1-Day Passes.

Come to the San Diego Zoo on December 3 or 4 for the Fisher-Price® Little People® Live Holiday Show, a musical show featuring Little People costumed characters! Two shows offered daily at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Free with paid Zoo admission or membership. This event is geared towards families with kids under the age of five.
