Observing Cuddly Koalas

Our guide, Jennifer Tobey, is a resident koala researcher explaining the ins and outs of her field and of the koalas’ daily lives.

Mrs. Tobey plugs in her iPod to a speaker, letting us hear the unique calls of the koala.

Zoo intern Claire holds a shotgun sound amplifier and recorder, allowing her to hear the unique sounds of the koala enclosure.

This comfortable koala sits in its branch gracefully grooming itself and eating.
