Zoo keeper Jacob explained to us that Tango, a 290-pound (132-kilogram) female lion, eats usually 11 pounds (5 kilograms) of meat daily and likesĀ beef heartsĀ as treats.

    Tango?? I thought that the only lions at the zoo were the ones at lion camp

    Editor’s note: The San Diego Zoo has two elderly female lions. Lion Camp is an exhibit at the Zoo’s Wild Animal Park and is home to 3 adults and 5 cubs.
