I believe it is said that hippos turn pink because of the heat. Is this true or a myth? If true, what causes the pink color and does it harm them in anyway? I believe that the photo above shows a tint of pink.
Editor’s note: That pinkish red secretion coming out of the hippo’s skin is an oily substance that moisturizes and protects the skin from sunburn. Pretty neat, eh?

well they mostly eat food
