Photo and Video Licensing

The San Diego Zoo image and video collection offers a myriad of wildlife and natural habitat photographic images and video footage for advertising, corporate, editorial, non-profit and other professional creative use. Our extensive library consists of more than 400,000 exotic animal, plant and landscape images. In addition, our staff of animal experts is available to ensure accuracy of informational copy. In addition, our video library holds over 10,000 broadcast video tapes, including over 300 hours of 16x9, 1080i, High Definition footage. We use a state-of-the-art High Definition non-linear video editing system.

Our professional fees are uniquely based on image type, use, term, publication, distribution, audience, placement and language. Animal Bytes

The Animal Bytes section on the San Diego Zoo Web site attracts more than 900,000 page views each month. This collection of 80 animal fact sheets, which is always growing, details animal species information such as classification, habitat, diet, and conservation status. Animal Bytes content is now available to publishers and education specialists to develop a series of educational books, educational flash cards, posters, or create a Web-based product.
