Kid Territory: Crafts: Fabric Wreath

Here's a great holiday decoration you can make out of a discarded wire coat hanger! This versatile wreath can be made to fit any occasion.
What you need
- 1 wire coat hanger
- 38 fabric strips 6.5 inches by 3 inches. Choose fabric that will go with your holiday theme.
What you do
1. Bend the wire coat hanger into a circle or a heart shape (ask a grown-up to help with this).
2. One by one, fold the long, raw edges of each fabric strip into the middle of the strip and then fold the strip in half, length wise.
3. Bend the raw edges together into a U shape.
4. Slide the strip under the wire with the round loop side to the middle, “legs” to the outside.
5. Slip the “legs” thru the loop and pull tight.
6. Repeat again and again until entire the entire wire is covered. More or fewer strips may be required, depending on fabric pliability.
7. If you like, add some holiday decorations!
