Special Zoo hours: 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
(stay on grounds until 9 p.m.)
We're having a Fiesta! this summer at the San Diego Zoo, celebrating the Americas with special entertainment and animal encounters! Occurring each evening at the Zoo, the Fiesta lets you spend a warm summer evening outdoors in a tropical setting.
Themed with a party atmosphere, the Zoo's evening entertainment honors the vast culture of California, Central and South America's past and present, from live Latin and Peruvian music to brightly adorned performers. Don't miss a jaw-dropping unique entertainment experience called Caras Silvestres (Faces of the Wild) where nature comes to life on canvas with an extraordinary combination of movement and music.

TALAMASCA: The Storytellers is a multimedia celebration of the real storytellers at the Zoo—our animal caretakers—punctuated by elegant acrobatics and cirque-style acts and set to energetic and soulful music.
Kids will be entertained and educated during Dr. Zoolittle’s Amazing Amazon Adventure show; other stories to be shared include Juanita Maria Sophia Bug Diva and Bugs on the Farm. Opportunities abound for distinctive craft making, where kids may learn the art of creating dreamcatchers or making sugar skulls and piñatas.
At the San Diego Zoo, the animals are always highlighted, with chances for an up-close encounter with Latin American critters like an armadillo, ocelot, sloth, and parrot, among many other exotic creatures.
