An additional splash of color intensifies a vibrant springtime
event, the new Butterfly Jungle at
the Wild Animal Park. Butterflies of
every shape, size, and color flutter throughout the Hidden
Jungle, a walk-through neo-tropical aviary. This year's theme is all about pollinators as we celebrate not only butterflies, but birds, bugs, and bats!
Enter the lush jungle environment of Hidden Jungle and become immersed
in the sights and sounds of a South American rain forest.
Butterflies differ dramatically in coloration and
size. A variety of butterfly species will flutter freely
throughout Hidden Jungle and the entire jungle habitat is alive with these colorful creatures. During Butterfly Jungle there are daily keeper talks and butterfly releases, colorful butterfly pupae on display, and our Butterfly Wrangler to entertain you!

Discovery Station
Our popular spot for families, the Discovery Station will be transformed into a jungle! Learn how to do the honeybee "waggle dance," dress up like a butterfly, make butterfly-themed crafts to take home, and play with bug puzzles and games. Check out the station's straw bale house, turned into a "bat cave" for kids to explore!
Project Butterfly
Enjoy this show about metamorphosis at Tembo Stadium, 2 and 5 p.m.

Butterfly Runway, a daily costume parade
Dress as a bug or butterfly, or wear your best hat, then join our parade through Nairobi Village! Daily at 3 p.m.
Identify Butterflies
Download online butterfly ID "cards" and match to the butterflies in the exhibit.
Receive one free package of hummingbird nectar with the purchase of any bird feeder, March 28–June 19, while supplies last.
Themed Tours and Roar & Snore Sleepovers
Early morning Rolling Safari off-road Segway X2 tours will have exclusive entry to the Hidden Jungle before it opens to the public. Animal encounters, Journey into Africa, Photo Caravans, Night Moves caravan tours, and Savanna Safari tours will include our Butterfly Jungle theme about pollinators. You can even spend the night during a Roar & Snore: Butterfly Bash, which will include exclusive tours of the Hidden Jungle habitat.
Gift Shops
Butterfly friendly plants will be available for sale at our Plant Trader gift shop. Other butterfly, bug, and bat merchandise will be offered for sale throughout the Park, including butterfly cookie decorating kits.
